Having them makes gathering much quicker and killing much faster. You will want to get iron tools and a sword as well if you can from the vendor. Making lvl 20 without a spear will take some work. The blueprint for the spear is in the anvil so you dont have to know it. The other way to get a spear is to make level 20 and then open the iron bar reciepe, or lvl the vendor till he sells iron bars and make a spear in the anvils in town. You may need to lvl your vendor before he sells spears. Get a horse that is atleast 40+ lvl if you can, it will be your tank and your extra pack. While your collecting, sell everything you can to vendors and build up around 400 coin for a horse. Punch a few bushes, make your basic items and collect basic resources until 10th lvl or so. When I start out a new character I begin by. I also set up 6 cooking pots, 3 on top of 3 with ceiling between them and so I can access all 6. For mushrooms is boar down by the river time. There are many others that work well, including dragons and nidhogs. A two handed sword on bodies is the best tool. Next its uncommon meat and mushrooms for delicate carnivor food. At the same time you will get uncommon grass, more then enough.

I will bring 3-4 iron swords, and collect a few hundred with out too much trouble. You will have to search around for the closest most productive spot. Let me point out that some spots have much more grass nodes then others. They have a 2 min spoil timer and quickest way I know is a sword in the thick grassy areas around rivers and lakes. Lets start with uncommon grass and flowers for delicate herbivor food. (except maybe on sometimes on offical servers, hehe poor resource rates and tame times, but its still doable) It also is the best way to tame many creatures, and in the end its totally worth it. With the right tools and tames, this becomes very doable. I have to say that I was reluctant to go through the trouble to make delicate food. I had alot of trouble with making delicate feed in the begining. Sacred Griffon - Very slow flyer, Strong slow attack Windrider - Fast flyer, Strong slow attack Infernus dragon - Damn good attack, 40k+ hps on high lvls, can tank Dark Fallen Savage Cyclops - good hps 13k on high lvls, really good damage.

Nidhog - Good flyer, good attack, good carry, can kill some Reapers Griffon - not a bad inbetween wyvern and nidhog, slower flyer. Gathers 100s of magic shards per attack on grasses. Find them on volcano island, they dont make the swim back usually.Īlbino Deer - Must have as soo as you can make the saddle. Just skip the berundas, trust me.įlarehorn - Best gathering ore, stone, even good at wood and twine. Couple of these following you, and you are safe from most creatures in the game even some dark fallen. Viscious Barbesh - Most excellent guard dogs, 12k hps on high lvls, good attack. You can use a spear while riding and high lvl ones have 10k hps. Try to get the highest level you can.īoars - for rare mushrooms to make delicate carnivor food. Make a habit of using soul suppression stones on all tames right after you have tamed them. The tames you get make a huge difference in how effective you are at gathering and hunting, so does the level of the tame. The higher tier items make a huge difference. Check the stats of even common items as they can be 10 points more damaging or have 30 more armor lvl, and still be common. The best stuff drops from Dark Fire,Stone, and Wind elementals. Either from the vendor or by killing dark fallen. Get uncommon or better tools, weapons, and armor. Mostly stone, copper and then iron, and wood, near by in good quanity (use your high lvl flarhorn). Location of you base really make a difference and it has to do with near by resources than anything else, and that includes town resources.

Case in point: 3 races at war with each other have no defenses set up really, just open towns with a few guards that are not very effective against a raiding party. But its just not well thought though for pvp. The game is just not geared for pvp if you ask me. I dont suggest servers active in pvp, unless you like Rust style type griefing and other lame crap. I suggest a server with 3x-5x resource gathering and taming, for a easier, more enjoyable experiance. Some wisdom shared from my 1000 hours of playing DnL.
